Grammy® Nominees Slug It Out

Grammy Music's Biggest Night

Grammy Music’s Biggest Night

The nominees for Music’s Biggest Night will be slugging it out for the next couple of months, and it’s going to be a rough and tumble fight. The field is so packed with the talented, the beautiful and the prolific that there’s really no way to know who’s going to take home the prize in each category. Trying to pick the winners of the GRAMMYs® is about ten times as hard as trying to pick the winners of the March Madness NCAA basketball tournament. There are just too many deserving candidates, and you never know who will be blessed with the statuette.

The awards show will be broadcast live on February 8 on CBS. Tickets for the show and after parties are for sale on the VIP Concierge website, in case you want to be there for all the excitement. In the meantime, I’m going to try to pick some of the winners.

In the Record of the Year category, the five candidates are Iggy Azalea featuring Charlie XCX for “Fancy,” Sia for “Chandelier,” Sam Smith for “Stay With Me,” Taylor Swift for “Shake It Off” and newcomer Meghan Trainor for “All About That Bass.” For me, it’s all about Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. Swift is an awards show juggernaut with a record breaking new album, and Trainor has stepped out from the studio with her own cut, rather than supplying songs to established Nashville artists. Personally, I don’t think “Shake It Off” is as good a song as “All About That Bass,” but that doesn’t mean Swift won’t win. She’s revamped her style and is now mining the deep waters of pop music. However, I think Trainor is going to pull off the upset.

CMA Country Music Awards

CMA Country Music Awards

Wow! What a year this has been for Miranda Lambert. The reigning Female Vocalist of the Year garnered nine, count ‘em, nine nominations spread across seven categories for the 48th annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. The CMAs, which are also known as Country Music’s Biggest Night, are going to be held live on November 5 in the city that sings itself to sleep every night, beautiful, popular Nashville, which recently became a TV star in its own right. As if that many nominations wouldn’t bring any household tremendous joy, her husband, Blake Shelton, who’s a big-time country star his own self, is also currently the Male Vocalist of the Year, and he’s up for three awards at this year’s CMAs. This year’s accolades are the largest embarrassment of riches for Lambert since 2010.

To further beautifully complicate things, Lambert and her husband are going to be squaring off for the coveted 2014 Entertainer of the Year award. That’s sure to be worth bragging rights while the happily married couple is folding laundry as they watch “Nashville” on TV. Plus, they’re both going to be performing at the show, along with fellow multiple nominee Keith Urban, who is nominated in four categories this year, including that crowded Entertainer of the Year category. The only thing that those three have to worry about would be if someone like Luke Bryan or George Strait, the undisputed King of Country music was also nominated for EOY–which they both are! Yikes! How are the voters going to pick just one of them? That’s like having to choose between being rich and being wealthy. And Bryan’s going to perform that night too. Great googly moogly!

How to Tell the Difference between an Award Show and a Real Award Show

Award Show

Award Show

As defined by the holy fount of information, Wikipedia, an award show is a ceremonial event where an award of any kind is given to a person. Now, that doesn’t mean that every award show is created equal. Like watches and cars, clothes and people, they come in all shapes and sizes, and some are simply better than others. You can’t just roll out a red carpet and say that it’s the area’s premier event. Well, it might be, depending on where you live. In case you were wondering, here’s a refresher outlining differences between award shows and real Hollywood-style award shows that you will only see in L.A.

Top 10 Signs an Award Show isn’t The Real Deal

10. The entertainer of the year nominees sound like landscapers-because they are.
9. The event is on the calendar next to “Nominate your neighbor for yard of the month.”
8. It’s happening at the theater where your niece saw VeggieTales “Beauty and the Beet.”
7. There’s an under-16 talent show category.
6. You know the host from elementary school.
5. Tractor Mart, Carlson’s Feed and The Pricey Country Store will be handing out swag.
4. The carpet is only spray painted red.
3. The musical guest played at your grandmother’s nursing home.
2. Tickets are only $15. Seniors get in free.
1. And finally, it’s not a real award show if it’s in Oklahoma!

Don’t Be Tardy – Get Your American Music Awards Tickets!

American Music Awards

American Music Awards

It’s 2014, and there’s a brave new American Music Awards waiting for you and your friends to enjoy. The show will be coming our way on November 23, 2014. Now, we all have something to look forward to besides Thanksgiving turkey. Everyone will be grateful that pumpkin pie and plump waistlines come after the first major music award show of the season.

So why are the American Music Awards more exciting than stuffing and cranberry sauce? The answer is pretty obvious. If you get your American Music Awards tickets, you’ll be surrounded by a crowd of celebrities instead of your relatives and a pile of soon-to-be leftovers. Comparing the AMAs and Thanksgiving is really pointless. What Thanksgiving dinner is accompanied by performances from every musical artist that you can think of?

MTV Video Music Awards

OMG, the VMAs! #RedCarpet, #CrazyParty, #OutAllNight, #ShutTheFrontDoor. Like wow! MTV’s Video Music Award tickets are already on sale. It’s a huge deal–even if we’ve been waiting for this annual music/music video fest for a year. There’s a lot to be stoked about. Specifically, that the 2014 VMAs are returning to the fabulous Left Coast. The only place they belong, if you ask us. Brooklyn who? Seriously, that place has some bad juju memories. It’s 11 months later, and we’re still trying to block out that Miley Cyrus performance. PTSD anyone? Someone please tell that girl to keep her tongue to herself.

Anywho, the VMAs aren’t just returning to their SoCal home, they are happening in the storied, steeped in music, saturated in stardom halls of the historic, yet newly renovated, Forum in lovely Inglewood, CA. Wherever that is. Just kidding. If you’re not sure, the GPS definitely knows how to get there, and you can’t miss the long line of stars that will be floating over the red carpet and streaming in the front door on August 24, 2014. This is the only super Sunday we’ve heard of. The nominees are awesome, and the performers already include first-time nominee 5 Seconds of Summer. That’s 5SOS to you. Plus, the ultra-platinum, king of abs Usher will be hitting the stage as will the fabulous, chart-topping Ariana Grande. That’s grande news for any music fan and another reason to stock up on award show tickets.

Radio Disney Music Awards

Radio Disney Music Awards

All Mahomies within range need to perk up their ears for some big news. Austin Mahone is not only presenting at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards, he’s also going to perform at the event. Mahone has been on quite a tear recently. He released “The Secret,” his debut album, and he’s been spotted in the studio with none other than Justin Bieber. He’s headlining a massive tour this summer, and he recently knocked everybody out with his performance at the Kids’ Choice Awards. On top of all that, he just turned 18. Whew! That’s a lot to have on your plate at such a tender age.

Austin also blew the minds of a posse of students at the Miami Sports, Leadership and Management Academy when he dropped by and played three songs for the star-struck kids. That was when he announced that he would be presenting and performing at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards. He’ll be in good company at the awards show with other presenters like Julianne Hough, Kelly Osbourne and Cody Simpson. While at the academy, he hald a raffle to win a trip to fly to Los Angeles and go to the awards show, which is being held on Saturday, April 26 at the Nokia Theater at L.A. Live. The show will be televised the next day, Sunday, April 27 at 8:00 EDT and 7:00 CDT. If you want tickets to the awards show and after party, contact us at VIP Concierge. We’ll hook you up for the time of your life.

Just to get your juices flowing, here are the nominees for this year’s Radio Disney Music Awards, as chosen by you. Austin Mahone, Ariana Grande and Zendaya are well known nominees, but some fresh faces like Celeste Buckingham received her first nomination.

Luke Bryan to Perform at Billboard Music Awards Show

April 15, 2014 |  Tags: , , ,

bbma_banner_2014_nosamLuke Bryan is living a dream, or at least he says so. His star is rising high across the country, and he’s hanging on for dear life. According to Bryan, “All I ever wanted to be is a big ol’ country star and I cannot believe it’s happened. It’s the time of my life and I’m loving every day. It’s all a dream.”

Hopefully Luke will be wide awake on May 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He’s just been added to the list of stars who will be performing at the upcoming 2014 Billboard Music Awards. It’s likely Bryan will play “Play It Again” again for the good people in attendance and for those watching the live event on broadcast television. He’ll be representing the countrified segment of the audience, smack in the middle of a widely varied lineup consisting of Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic, John Legend and Jason Derulo. Bryan has a vested interest in this year’s show. He’s been nominated for seven awards in six categories, including the all-genre Top Billboard 200 Album, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, and the prestigious Milestone Award. He’ll probably be on stage more than once.

This isn’t the first time Bryan has been nominated for several awards. Since his 2007 debut release “I’ll Stay Me,” he’s racked up the awards, including scoring the Academy of Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year nod in 2013. He’s not really sure if he’s awake or dreaming, but if he’s dreaming, he doesn’t want to wake up. Life is. . . well, it’s too damned good.

We get tickets to the Radio Disney Awards, Teen Choice, I Heart Radio, the ESPYs, the People’s Choice awards, the Academy of Country Music Awards, and the Country Music Association’s annual award show. We usually have tickets to the elite parties that run before, during and after the Academy Awards©, the Grammy Awards© and all the other awards shows. Lots of people get to go to the show, but only a certain, privileged few get to attend the after-parties. That’s when things really get frivolous, glitzy and downright fun.

We can get you backstage for the production of a television show or onto the set of a motion picture while it’s being shot. For film lovers, it doesn’t get any better than that. The stars love to have visitors to the set, and they’ll make you feel as welcome as a foam finger at a football game. We can also put you backstage for a concert with your favorite group. We can even arrange a “meet and greet” with the biggest stars on stage, screen or radio.
