So, you’ve taken your time and selected tickets to the perfect event. Now, you aren’t sure how to give the tickets for maximum effect. Surprise and a dash of humor are the key ingredients. Sentimentality is optional. While you’ve been busy shopping, we’ve been busy studying the very best ways to give tickets and experiences as presents.

1. You’ve Been Served!

The person who likes to be naughty and nice deserves to be served with their Christmas gift. A la Punk’d, have a co-worker or unfamiliar person serve the recipient with papers demanding they appear at the award show or event. You get to hide out and watch their reaction go from shock to delight as they realize what the gift is.

2. Picture This

Pictures are full of symbolism and secret messages. Conceal your true plans in a framed picture or photo album. You could put the tickets in the frame. Or even better, hide them in the back and use a photo of you or your adorable child with a sign that says something like “You and me @ the SAG Awards “or “See you at the Emmys.”

Oscar Party

Oscar Party

Hosting an Oscar® party isn’t very different than hosting any other party. The theme has already been chosen, so all you have to do is fill in the blanks. Of course, if you have 2013 Oscar® tickets, someone else will be throwing the party, but if you aren’t going to the show, you can still pitch a fun party.

Naturally, you need snacks and beverages. To make the night more special, buy a few bottles of sparkling wine or champagne. Drinking bubbly makes people feel classy, like the people you’ll be watching at the awards show. You’ll want to have some popcorn and soft drinks, too. Buy a few movie-ish snacks like Junior Mints, Twizzlers, Milk Duds and Raisenettes.

Walking past the ropes can at times be as simple as tipping the doorman, booking a VIP table, or asking your concierge to arrange for you to be on the VIP guest list. However, this alone sometimes may not get you past the velvet ropes at the most exclusive establishments, with the exception being our VIP Members whom we make sure NEVER wait in line.

VIP’s are not typically any more attractive, smarter, younger, athletic, nor more financially secure than you are. Being a VIP does not necessitate these characteristics. Attractive men often have just as many difficulties socially as the average Joe. Being a VIP is about attitude, confidence, and knowledge. Ever see this average looking Joe with beautiful women around him? He acts the part and therefore people treat him the way he presents himself. If that type of man can become a VIP, surely most others can also.

Just as you know your business better than anyone else, a VIP makes being a VIP their business. In addition to their profession, they devote significant time and effort towards establishing the image and network they need in order to become successful as a VIP. They do this somewhat inconspicuously. All others typically are aware of are the fruits of their investment…their image, reputation, social standing, admiration from others, an apparent magnetism that seems to attract the cream of the crop in high society, and of course, VIP treatment.
