All-Star Cast Brings “Pain and Gain” to Life

Pain and Gain Movie Premiere

Pain and Gain Movie Premiere

Reality TV is popular because it can’t be predicted, except, perhaps, by the writers. Films based on real people in unreal situations always have that “can you believe this is happening” feeling. Some seem to laugh right along with you at the idiocy of the characters.

“Pain and Gain” is one of those films that makes fun of itself by just letting the action flow as it did originally. The sheer bravado and confidence of these muscleheads is funny and sad at the same time. Mark Wahlberg plays Daniel Lugo, a bodybuilder who’s no stranger to steroids. He has enough vision to realize he wants to improve his life, but he’s not smart enough to see the error in his ways. For instance, he says he knows all about kidnapping people because he’s seen a lot of movies. However, most movies about kidnapping are about unsuccessful kidnappings-not successful endeavors.

MTV Movie Awards Should Be Taken Seriously – Not!

MTV Movie Awards Shows

MTV Movie Awards Shows

MTV is so excited about the 2013 MTV Awards that they moved them from June to April. They just can’t wait. The 22nd annual edition will be hosted by Rebel Wilson, so you know it’s going to be irreverent but not irrelevant. Rebel has some new flicks coming out this year, so she might as well pump them up, and what better way than showing how funny she can be on Sunday, April 14?

The MTV Awards Show is not your father’s awards show. How can it be taken seriously if “Django Unchained” and “Ted” are both nominated for seven awards, including Movie of the Year? How can it be taken seriously with categories like Best Scared as S**T Moment, Best Shirtless Performance, Best WTF Moment and Best Fight? It can’t be, and it doesn’t expect to be.

Red Hot Chili Peppers to Headline Coachella for Third Time in 2013

Coachella VIP Music Festival

Coachella VIP Music Festival

Everything old is new again at Coachella. Six years after they last headlined the Coachella Music and Arts Fair in 2007, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are going to be doing it again-twice. They be headlining both weekends of this year’s festival that spans two weekends during April 12 to April 14 and April 19 to April 21. Ten years after they first headlined the show, the Peppers are rock and roll royalty. They’ve had even more success on the road and in the studio than ever, and they don’t look like they’re fading anytime soon. Lead singer Anthony Kiedis still has more energy than the Energizer Bunny and better abs than Chuck Norris. Abs, as we all know, are critical to the success of a rock and roll singer. Other acts that are performing late on Sunday are Vampire Weekend and James Blake.

VIP Concierge has VIP passes and tickets to 2013 Coachella. The passes get you into a few restricted zones that have all the creature comforts you’d like to have at an outdoor show, plus a few more. The VIP areas have full bars, couches, shady picnic areas, more food vendors and a unique vantage point for the musical festivities.

Die-hard movie fans who want to see the film before everyone else can still buy tickets to “The Company You Keep” premiere. The rest of the world will have to be content watching the previously released theatrical trailer. So here’s the deal, “The Company You Keep” is an American film based on American events and the American youth movement, but almost no one in America has seen it!
