If you’ve ever gone to one of the massive music festivals with multiple stages and more bands than feathers on a duck, you know how hard it can be to choose just which acts you want to see. You won’t have that problem at the Coachella Music and Arts Fair at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. That’s because Coachella is actually two music festivals on two consecutive weekends. The exact same acts will perform from April 11th through the 13th and then again from the 18th to the 20th.
Of course, you can mix and match. If you see a band you really like during the first weekend, you can catch them again on the following weekend. Or, you could spread yourself out and with careful planning, see most, if not all, of the groups. The choice, as always, is yours.
The Golden voice production team has announced that the Big Kahuna this for this year’s show is the reunion of Outkast, the hip-hop duo responsible for the incredibly infectious hit “hey, Ya.” Andre “Andre 3000″ Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton haven’t been performing together for 7 long years, but they’re getting back together for this festival, and, we expect, a summer tour. It’s been a long while since their double album “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below” came out in 2003, but we’re sure they haven’t lost a step. Their last released recording was “Idlewild” in 2006, so you can be pretty sure that they’ve got a few new tricks up their sleeves.
They’re not the only band that’s going to reunite for Coachella. Minneapolis rockers The Replacements are going to perform on both Fridays as part of their reunion tour. Other Friday performers include Broken Bells, Zedd and Girl Talk. On Saturday, Muse is top billed with Queens of the Stone Age, Skrillex, Pharrell Williams, Lorde and the electronic pop-rock duo Pet Shop Boys. Arcade Fire is headlinging on the 13th and 20th, along with Beck, Calvin Harris, Neutral Milk Hotel and Motorhead.
Coachella is already sold out, but VIP Concierge has VIP tickets that offer backstage access to the festival. With these tix, you can hang out with the bands at the exclusive food vendors or over at the wet bar. There are also highly coveted relaxation zones with coaches and shade that can be quite pleasant over the course of a long weekend. Our VIP passes even give you access to extra toilet facilities, which can also come in quite handy.
You don’t have to go for both weekends, if you’re too busy. You can pick which weekend you want to attend and know you’re not going to miss your favorite bands. Plus, there are art installations all over the Polo grounds that you can take in and enjoy.
Start the summer off on the right foot. Get your bad self down to Coachella for a right good time. If you don’t go, you only have yourself to blame. Act now, before our limited supply of VIP tickets are sold out. No sense crying when you can be stylin at the show.
