MTV’s Video Music Awards (VMA’s)

Everything old is still old for MTV. The MTV Video Music Awards Show is returning to its roots this year. This year’s show will be live August 25 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, home of Jay-Z’s NBA team, the Brooklyn Nets. If you were paying attention, you might have noticed the subtle signs that MTV was dropping regarding the move of the awards to New York City. On MTV’s Instagram account, the VMA Moonman icon posted a photographic travel diary tracing his trip from Los Angeles to New York and finally to the Barclays, after visiting a few Big Apple landmarks. Do you think Jay-Z might drop in on the VMA’s to have a little fun and sing a song or two? I wouldn’t bet against it, that’s for sure.

Any MTV Awards Show stands less on ceremony and more on irreverence and breaking tradition. Everybody remembers the raucous scene in 1992 when Howard Stern, in the guise of his alter-ego Fartman, descended on the crowd to present a Moonman award. Do you recall the uproar when Britney Spears danced with a python or when she kissed Madonna? All sorts of surprises have happened at the MTV VMA Awards, and they’ll keep happening. Michael Jackson can’t kiss Lisa Marie Presley this year, but somebody’s going to do something outrageous. We’ll have to wait until August to find out who does what.

Of course, just because the show isn’t until August doesn’t mean you have to wait until then to buy your tickets. Seats to the VMA Awards sell out quickly, and you don’t want to be left crying all over your debit card. The VIP Concierge can set you up with as many tickets as you need. You’ll be able to hang out with all your favorite stars and catch a very entertaining, exciting awards show. What could be better than that? OK, maybe it would be better if you were escorting Mila Kunis, but you’ll have to ask Ashton for the privilege.

Make your move. Buy your tickets today. Don’t wait or you may be more disappointed than you’ve ever been in your entire life.
