The MTV VMA nominees have been announced, and it looks like this year’s competition will be hard fought. With so many talented nominees, it’s going to be hard to choose who’s going to win your vote. Leading the gang with eight nominations is Beyonce. She’s up for Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Collaboration, among others. Iggy Azalea and Eminem both have seven nominations. Other performers with multiple nods are Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Zedd, Pharrell Williams, Jay Z, Ariana Grande, Sam Smith, Pitbull, Avicii, Lorde, Jason Derulo and Hayley Williams.

Best Hip Hop nominees include Eminem for Bezerk, Drake featuring Majid Jordan for Hold On (We’re Going Home), Childish Gambino for 3005, Kanye West for Black Skinhead and Wiz Khalifa for We Dem Boyz.

 

Those nominated for Best Male performer include Pharrell Williams for Happy, John Legend for All Of Me, Ed Sheeran featuring Pharrell for Sing, Sam Smith for Stay With Me and Eminem featuring Rihanna for Monster.

 

Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX for Fancy, Beyonce for Partition, Lorde for Royals, Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea for Problem, Katy Perry featuring Juicy J for Dark Horse were nominated for Best Female.

 

Best Pop video nominees include Pharrell Williams for Happy, Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX for Fancy, Jason Derulo featuring 2 Chainz for Talk Dirty, Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea for Problem and Avicii featuring Aloe Blacc for Wake Me Up.

 

Nominees for Best Rock video are:Imagine Dragons for Demons, Arctic Monkeys for Do I Wanna Know, The Black Keys for Fever, Lorde for Royals and Linkin Park for Until It’s Gone.

 

MTV Artist To Watch nominees include Sam Smith for Stay With Me, 5 Seconds of Summer for She Looks So Perfect, Charli XCX for Boom Clap, Schoolboy Q for Man Of The Year and Fifth Harmony for Miss Movin On.

The nominees for MTV Clubland Award are DJ Snake & Lil Jon for Turn Down For What, Zedd featuring Hayley Williams for Stay the Night, Calvin Harris for Summer, Martin Garrix for Animal and Disclosure for Grab Her!

 

For Best Video With A Social Message, the nominees are Angel Haze featuring SIA for Battle Cry, Avicii for Hey Brother, Beyonce for Pretty Hurts, J Cole featuring TLC for Crooked Smile, Kelly Rowland for Dirty Laundry and David Guetta featuring Mikky Ekko for One Voice.

 

The nominees for Best Cinematography include 30 Seconds To Mars for City of Angels, Beyonce for Pretty Hurts, Arcade Fire for Afterlife, Gesaffelstein for Hate or Glory and Lana Del Rey for West Coast.

 

The Best Editing nods went to Eminem for Rap God, MGMT for Your Life Is A Lie, Zedd featuring Hayley Williams for Stay The Night, Beyonce for Pretty Hurts plus Fitz And The Tantrums for The Walker.

 

Best Choreography nominations include Sia for Chandelier, Beyonce for Partition, Usher for Good Kisser, Michael Jackson featuring Justin Timberlake for Love Never Felt So Good, Jason Derulo featuring 2Chainz for Talk Dirty and Kiesza for Hideaway.

 

Those nominated for Best Direction are DJ Snake & Lil Jon for Turn Down For What?, OK Go for The Writing’s On The Wall, Miley Cyrus for Wrecking Ball, Beyonce for Pretty Hurts and Eminem featuring Rihanna for The Monster.

 

For Best Art Direction, the nominees include DJ Snake & Lil Jon for Turn Down For What, Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX for Fancy, Eminem for Rap God, Arcade Fire for Reflektor and Tyler, The Creator for Tamale.

 

The Best Visual Effects nominees are DJ Snake & Lil Jon for Turn Down For What, OK Go for The Writing’s On The Wall, Disclosure for Grab Her!, Eminem for Rap God and Jack White for Lazaretto.
