Scary Movie 5 Premiere

The first four installments in “Scary Movie” series were Wayan Brothers’ creations. The Wayans have been responsible for some ground-breaking comedies like “I’m Gonna’ Get You Sucka” and “In Living Color,” the TV sketch show that introduced the world to people like Keenan Ivory Wayans, Damon Wayans, Jim Carrey, Jennifer Lopez, Tommy Davidson and Jamie Foxx. In the “Scary Movie” series, siblings Marlon and Shawn also got their chance to show their comedy chops.

For the first time, Anna Farris and Regina Hall are not reprising their roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks. Of course, nobody could replace those two talented actors. Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan were brought on to add a little of that old-school loose cannon factor to the movie. Old habits die hard, however. Tere’s a rumor that Anna Faris has a cameo. She would have probably starred again, but she’s pregnant.

David Zucker and Pat Proft wrote “Scary Movie 5″. Their parody guns were aimed at such films as “Black Swan,” “Paranormal Activity,” “Child’s Play,” “127 Hours,” “Final Destination,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes,” “The Hunger Games” and “Inception.” That’s what makes “Scary Movie 5″ so much fun. There are no sacred cows, and this ain’t David Zucker’s first rodeo. He’s been making comedies like “The Kentucky Fried Movie,” “Airplane,” the “Naked Gun” series and several others since the 1980′s.
